Word add-in troubleshooting

Fixes for the most common problems: a missing tab or buttons, activation errors, Word disabling the add-in, conversion and spelling questions, updates and support.

The Matn tahriri tab is missing

I installed the add-in, but there's no Matn tahriri tab in Word

Work through these steps in order, reopening Word after each one:

  1. Fully restart Word

Close every Word window. In Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) make sure no WINWORD.EXE is left running, then open Word again.

  2. Check the add-in is enabled in Word

In Word open File → Options → Add-ins. In the Manage list at the bottom choose COM Add-ins, click Go and make sure UzOffice Word Add-In is ticked. Then choose Disabled Items: if UzOffice is listed, select it and click Enable.

  3. Run the repair shortcut

Close Word. In the Start menu open UzOffice — plaginni tiklash (repair the add-in) in the UzOffice Word Add-In folder. It re-registers the add-in with Word, stops Word from disabling it again and reinstalls the signing certificates. No administrator rights needed.

  4. Check the VSTO Runtime

If the repair window says DIQQAT: VSTO Runtime hali ham o'rnatilmagan (the VSTO Runtime is still not installed), run the vstor_redist.exe file it shows as an administrator (right-click → Run as administrator), then restart the computer.

  5. Reinstall

If nothing helps, download the latest installer and run it with Word closed. No need to uninstall the old version.

At the end of installation I saw a message that the digital signature certificates weren't fully installed

This usually means a corporate Group Policy blocks certificate installation, and in that case Word can't load the add-in. Contact your IT administrator, or run the UzOffice — plaginni tiklash shortcut as an administrator.

Only the Yordam and Litsenziya groups are visible

The tab is there, but the conversion and spelling buttons aren't

That means the licence isn't active. Click Litsenziya and check the status:

  • ● Faollashtirilmagan (not activated) — no key entered yet. Activate it.
  • Tugash sanasi (expiry date) has passed — renew your subscription and activate a new key.
  • You activated but didn't restart Word — close Word completely and reopen it. The groups only load when Word starts.
The add-in was working and then the buttons disappeared

The add-in checks the licence every time Word opens. If the server rejects the key — because it was deleted on the website, has expired, the computer was disconnected from it or the account was blocked — the add-in's features switch off and Word's status bar shows why, for example “❌ Litsenziya faol emas (Expired). Key is expired.” (licence not active). Look up the English part of the message in the error table.

Being offline doesn't switch the add-in off: the status bar only shows a warning and the add-in keeps working.

Activation problems

I get an error when I click Faollashtirish

Every message and its fix is in the activation errors table. The most common ones are an incompletely copied key (Invalid API key.), an expired subscription (Key is expired.) and internet or proxy problems (Internet mavjud emas yoki serverga ulanib boʻlmadi.).

Device limit reached for this API key. — a new computer won't activate

All computer slots on the key are taken. See which computers are connected under Show devices on the API Keys page. Then use another key, ask support to disconnect an old computer, or replace the key — details: Device limits.

I renewed my subscription, but the add-in still says it has expired

A key's expiry date is fixed when the key is created and doesn't change when you renew. Create a new key on the API Keys page and activate it in the Litsenziya window in Word. Details: Expiry and renewal.

Word disabled the add-in

Word said the add-in caused a problem and disabled it, or it ended up under Disabled Items

Word automatically disables add-ins that fail on start-up. To turn it back on:

  1. Remove it from Disabled Items

File → Options → Add-ins, Manage: Disabled ItemsGo, select UzOffice and click Enable.

  2. Run the repair shortcut

Close Word and open UzOffice — plaginni tiklash from the Start menu. It also protects the add-in from being disabled again.

  3. Reopen Word

If it happens again, send the error log to support.

Conversion and formatting

I don't like the conversion result. How do I revert it?

Press Ctrl+Z once — the whole conversion is undone as a single step.

My document has parts that must not be converted (English names, code, links)

The ribbon buttons convert the whole document. In mixed documents, select only the parts you need and convert them from the right-click menu.

The conversion items are missing from the right-click menu

They appear only when text is selected. If there is just a cursor, or the selection has no letters (numbers, pictures), they aren't shown. They also don't appear in documents protected from editing (Review → Restrict Editing) — remove the protection first.

Did the formatting change?

Conversion replaces the text character by character and doesn't touch formatting. If something did change, revert with Ctrl+Z and send us the document (or part of it) — that's a bug and we'll fix it.

Spell-checking

Misspelled words aren't marked

If Yozish paytida (while typing) is off, words aren't checked automatically — turn it on or click Xatolarni tekshirish. For Latin words also check that the spelling alphabet matches the document.

A correct word is marked as wrong

Check three things: (1) a wrong apostrophe — click Apostroflarni toʻgʻrilash; (2) the alphabet doesn't match — pick the document's alphabet in the Imlo: lotin alifbosi menu; (3) the word isn't in the dictionary — add it from the right-click menu.

I don't want the red underlines, or they keep coming back after clearing

Click Belgilarni tozalash. Words you type afterwards are checked again if Yozish paytida is on — untick it if you don't want underlines at all. The underlines aren't saved in the file, so they never show on another computer.

Large documents open slowly

Untick Hujjat ochilganda (on open) so the whole text isn't checked when the document opens. Click Xatolarni tekshirish manually when needed.

Word's own spell-checking (English, Russian) stopped working

To avoid two kinds of red underlines, the add-in turns off Word's “check spelling and grammar as you type” settings. To turn them back on after uninstalling the add-in, go to File → Options → Proofing and tick Check spelling as you type and Mark grammar errors as you type.

Updates

How do I install a new version?

Click Yangilash … (or Yangilanishni tekshirish) in the Yordam group. If a new version is available, this window opens:

Yuklab olish (Download) opens the installer in your browser. Close Word and run the file — no need to uninstall the old version.

Details: Updating the add-in.

It says Yangilanishni tekshirib boʻlmadi (couldn't check for updates)

The server couldn't be reached. Check your internet connection and click Qayta urinish (Try again). On a corporate network ask your administrator whether a proxy or firewall blocks uzoffice.uz. You can always get the latest version from the download page too.

How do I find out which version is installed?

The version is shown in the ribbon group name (Yordam · v2.1.0), at the bottom of the Litsenziya window (Plagin versiyasi) and at the bottom of the Qoʻllanma window.

Contacting support

Write to us — we reply on working days:

Other ways
The contact page or the Fikr bildirish (Feedback) button in Word

What to include

  • A description of the problem and a screenshot of the error (including any status bar message).
  • Your Windows version and Word version (File → Account → About Word).
  • The add-in version — at the bottom of the Litsenziya window.
  • For activation problems — the email of your UzOffice account (don't send the key itself).
  • The error log: %LOCALAPPDATA%\UzOfficeWordAddIn\ErrorLog.txt. To open the folder, press Win+R, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\UzOfficeWordAddIn and press Enter.

Diagnostics

For tricky cases support may send you a small diagnostics tool. It checks the add-in's state on your computer and saves a UzOffice-Diagnostika.txt report to your Desktop — send that file back to us. No administrator rights needed, and the text of your documents isn't included.
