Before you start
- Computer
- Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) or Windows 11
- Word
- Word 2016, 2019, 2021 or Microsoft 365, desktop version
- Administrator rights
- Usually not needed — the add-in is installed for your Windows user only
- File
UzOfficeWordAddInSetup.exe. It bundles the required Microsoft components, so it is fairly large (over 100 MB)
Installing the add-in is free, but its buttons work only with an activated licence — for that you need an UzOffice account with an active subscription. You can prepare a key in advance: Create an API key.
Download

Open the download page
Go to uzoffice.uz/solutions/office-add-ins/download. An overview of the add-in is on the Word add-in page.

Download the file
Click the Windows button. The page also shows the current version and file size. The file is saved to your browser's Downloads folder.
Opened the page on your phone? Copy the link and send it to your computer — the add-in installs only on a Windows PC.
Install

Close Word
Save your work and close every Word window. If Word is still open, the installer notices and asks: Yes — “I closed Word myself, continue”, No — force Word to close (unsaved documents are lost!), Cancel — stop the installation. The safest option is to close Word yourself and click Yes.

Run the installer
Double-click the downloaded
UzOfficeWordAddInSetup.exe. If Windows shows a User Account Control or SmartScreen prompt, make sure the file came from the official website and continue. -
Follow the wizard
Click Next and Install. Keep the default installation folder. You normally don't need the optional Har kirishda plagin holatini avtomatik tiklash (repair the add-in at every sign-in) checkbox — it is meant for computers with strict corporate policies.

Wait for components, if needed
If .NET Framework 4.8 or the VSTO Runtime is missing, the installer adds it — this can take a few minutes. The VSTO Runtime is installed for the whole computer, so Windows may ask for administrator permission: click Yes.

Finish
Click Finish. You can now open Word.
Saw O'rnatish tugadi, lekin plagin ISHLAMAYDI?
That message (“Installation finished, but the add-in will NOT work”) means the VSTO Runtime could not be installed — usually because you have no administrator rights or answered “No” to the permission prompt. Follow the instructions in the message: run %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\UzOfficeWordAddIn\prereq\vstor_redist.exe as an administrator (or ask your IT administrator), then restart the computer.

The add-in works only for the Windows user who installed it. If someone else uses the same computer under their own Windows account, they need to install it separately.
First launch

Open Word
A new Matn tahriri tab appears on the ribbon.

Activate the licence
Until you activate, the tab shows only the Yordam (Help) and Litsenziya (Licence) groups — that's expected. Click
Litsenziya and enter your key. Details: Activating the licence. -
Restart Word
After activation, close and reopen Word — all groups appear.

Updating the add-in
The add-in checks for new versions by itself: about 2.5 minutes after Word opens, at most once a day. When a new version is found, a message appears in Word's status bar and the button in the Yordam group changes to something like Yangilash 2.2.0 (Update 2.2.0). You can also check any time with 
Yangilanishni tekshirish (Check for updates).

Click the button
Click Yangilash …. The UzOffice — versiya va yangilanish (version and update) window lists what's new.
The update window: ① Yuklab olish (Download) opens the installer in your browser. -
Download the new installer
Click Yuklab olish — the link opens in your browser. The add-in never downloads or runs the file itself. Keyinroq (Later) just closes the window.

Install over the old version
Close Word and run the new file. There's no need to uninstall the old version first. Your licence, settings and personal dictionary are kept.
The spelling dictionary updates separately: while your licence is active, the add-in downloads new dictionary versions in the background. You don't need to do anything.
Uninstalling
Close Word first, then use either method:
- From the Start menu: in the UzOffice Word Add-In folder click UzOffice Word Add-In — o'chirish.
- From Windows Settings: Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find UzOffice Word Add-In and click Uninstall.
Uninstalling removes the add-in files and the downloaded dictionary. Words you added to your personal dictionary (%APPDATA%\UzOfficeAddIn\dictionaries) and your licence data are not deleted — if you reinstall, they work again.
The device stays registered on the key
Uninstalling doesn't unlink the computer from your API key: it stays in the key's device list. Reinstalling on the same computer doesn't use a new slot. To move a key to another computer, read the devices section.
